Is my accommodation covered by insurance in case of damages?

All accommodations exchanged through our platform is covered by the SwitchAround guarantee, specifically designed for student flat exchange. Our Guarantee provides protection for up to €500,000 in damages to covered property in the rare event of guest damages, in eligible countries. These payments are subject to certain conditions, limitations, and exclusions, the details of which can be found in our terms.

What should I do if a listing or a member looks suspicious?

Are published listings verified ?

EACH LISTING IS VERIFIED BY THE TEAM in order to be published and in order for its member can contact other members or exchange their flat. There exists 6 methods of verification :

  1. Verification of members' listing and profile data.
  2. Verification of phone number
  3. Verification of personal email address,
  4. Verificaiton of academic email address,
  5. Verification of student ID validity
  6. Verification of ID on social networks (such as Linked In),

We are constantly working on improving our verification system. Besides, our platform is design to help members simplify their house hunting. That is why situations are extremely rare with flat exchange.

I am affraid to exchange my flat with a stranger, what should I do?

Prior to making an exchange reservation, contact members through our messaging service and ask them all your questions. Your apprehension will disappear when getting to know them.
